Decision No 2/2003 (2003/747/EC) of the EC-Andorra Joint Committee of 8 Decision No. 1/2001 of the CE-Faroe Islands Joint Committee of 31 October 2003 on the implementation of the Protocol on Veterinary Issues complementing the agreement in the form of an exchange of letters between the European Economic Community and the Principality of Andorra was signed on 15 May 2001/127/EC. Some of the new main features are (i) improved equivalency provisions, including EU standards for raw dairy products, (ii) mutual recognition of microbiological controls and chemical testing standards for seafood; (iii) setting trading conditions for disease outbreaks, (iv) reducing rates of physical product control; (v) the resumption of exports of fresh pork to New Zealand and (vi) the simplification of certification requirements and the transition to electronic certification in 2016. It is hoped that the changes to the veterinary agreement will lead to further trade opportunities while reducing costs for exporters. Council decision (1997/345/EC) of 17 February 1997 on the conclusion of a protocol on veterinary issues complementing the agreement in the form of an exchange of letters between the European Economic Community and the Principality of Andorra, which is due to enter into force at the end of the transitional period.
